The Eyes Have it!

Geez, where does the time go? I meant to post on here ages ago but I've had a bit of a chaotic summer. I've been away to Scotland, which was lovely despite the rain, and I've also been running lots of workshops, and writing, and finishing off a book. So I've been up to my eyes in it!

Speaking of eyes, it really is true that the eyes are the windows to the soul. On a practical level you can tell someone's general state of health from their eyes. You can also read much more if you take a second, and try to connect with them, eye to eye, so to speak! And lets not forget the third eye, situated in the middle of the forehead. That also needs some of our attention so that it's working properly. I like to lay down for a few minutes and place a piece of amethyst on my third eye. I imagine the lovely purple rays travelling through my forehead and tapping into this ball of energy. I also massage lavender oil into my third eye. This relaxes me, but also helps with psychic work and if I'm feeling a bit rundown.

So, now that we're moving into Autumn I'm going to try and post a bit more regularly. This is my favourite time of year. I love the change in scenery, the way the leaves glow, and the general nip in the air. You can't beat it!

On that note, I'd better dash to my next appointment.
Have a great weekend, and remember to pay attention to what you see, with your own eyes and in someone elses.

Mother Nature's Sunshine

Well it's a real day of sunshine and showers today. One minute the sun is trailing a path through the sky, the next, well the clouds have gathered, and there's a short burst of rain to put a dampner on everything. Some might say that's a little bit like life, and all the ups and downs we currently face. It's true that it's a difficult time for a lot of people and it's hard to be positive when you're faced with those black clouds every day. To combat this I like to try a little mind magic. I remember a time when I felt really good, when I was enjoying myself and I felt on top of the world. I try and conjure up a picture that captures the spirit of that memory, and then I freeze frame it in my mind. I try and recreate all those wonderful feelings and I make a mental statement like 'I am now happy and full of joy again.'
When we do something like this, it's almost as if we're making a statement to the universe and sending a positive message out there, and as we all know, like attracts like. So if you trick your mind into thinking good things, then you will start to re-create those feelings and you really will attract good things and a few surprises. Try it today, and let me know how you get on!

Soulshine Event - August 8th

Just a quick blog this time as I'm dashing around and have only just recovered access to the internet. I just wanted to let you know that I will be appearing at the Soulshine Mind Body Spirit Event in Leicester on Saturday 8th of August. It's at the Ramada Jarvis hotel on Granby Street. There are some really wonderful people on board so far, lots of holistic healers and therapists, some excellent mediums and psychics and some interesting stalls selling all sorts of esoteric goodies. It really is worth taking a trip over to meet everyone and have a lovely magical day!

Will blog again in a bit. I'm currently up to my eyes in writing a book and my next column. The muse is with me!

Have a lovely week.

All creatures great and small!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I have a thing for Owls. I absolutely adore them, but it wasn't always that way. When I was a child I was really spooked by them. I thought they were creepy, to the point that seeing pictures made my skin crawl. Then one day I went to a local fayre and I met a man who looked after sick owls. Within minutes of talking to him, I was holding an owl! At first I was scared, but after a few seconds I totally relaxed and completely fell in love with these wonderful creatures. It was as if facing my fear, I looked into the eyes of the owl and we connected. From that moment on I've always done my best to support these beautiful birds. I regularly visit owl sanctuaries, and do what I can to make sure that children, however young, learn how to appreciate wildlife. I believe that we can gain so much by interacting with nature, and I also believe that the best way to banish fear, is to face it, head on. When we do that, when we stare into the very depths of what scares us the most, we start to understand and accept it. It's not easy at first, particularly if the fear is deep-rooted, but it's a step in the right direction. So this week I challenge you to stretch your comfort zone and do something that scares you. It doesn't have to be something big, (saying hello to a stranger, going a different route to work, or speaking up in a meeting at work) just a small step could put you on the path to some really exciting adventures! And back to the subject of owls, and why I mentioned all this in the first place. Last week I went to Rutland Water and I stopped by the Owl Santuary there. If you haven't been, it's well worth a visit. It's a gorgeous place, and the people made me feel really welcome. They do such a good job, and they need all the visitors and support they can get, so if you can get out there and see them.

Have a lovely week!

Radio Ga Ga!

Hi Folks

Just a quick post this week as I'm doing the usual, racing around, trying to fit things in, and also get over some stomach problems. My tum is a parameter for how I'm doing on all levels, and I find that often if I'm stressed out or worried it goes straight to that region. We hold a lot of emotional stuff in our guts, which is understandable when you consider that if you're churned up mentally, you'll feel churned up inside. Anyway, I'm doing my best to relax and alleviate the problem. I find massaging lavender essential oil into my temples and my tum really helps. I also like to visualise blue healing light travelling through my system. I imagine it hitting the top of my head and showering me in lovely healing rays.

On another note, I'm going to be talking live on BBC Radio Nottingham on June 3rd, at about 3pm in the afternoon. I'll be talking to John Holmes about my work and also the Soulshine Mind Body Spirit event on the 6th of June. I'm really looking forward to it. So if you can tune in!

In the meantime have a magical week filled with wonderful surprises!

Birthday Blessings!

I do love birthdays. Even if it means I'm getting older. Every year brings something new, and it's always a good time to assess your situation, and appreciate all the great things in your life. It's my birthday this weekend and I'm starting to get into the party spirit, although I'm not a spring chicken anymore. I shall certainly make a birthday wish on Sunday.

I have lots of exciting plans for the year ahead. I'm about to start work on a book, and I have other projects and events in the pipeline. It's going to be busy, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm currently developing a series of workshops on the magical power of stories, and I'll be giving a taster session at the Soulshine Mind Body Spirit event in Nottingham on June 6th.

If it's your birthday this month(and even if its not) make the most of the full moon this weekend. Light a candle, make a wish, and visualise a positive future. Use the power of the planets and a little of your own mind magic to achieve your dreams.

Have a great week.
Bright Blessings!

A little of what you fancy....

I'm sitting here typing this and eating my favourite thing - cheese! I really am a cheese addict, those who know me well, know that this is my downfall. I cannot resist the stuff, and the smellier the better! Of course cheese has it's good and bad points. It's rich in calcium, and a small piece mid morning is the kind of protein packed snack that will keep you going till lunch time. On the other hand, it's high in fat, and not the good sort. So like everything, it's good to eat it in moderation. Something I do try.... Actually cheese is great for making magical requests. Take a knife and carve a symbol in a hunk of cheese (note I say hunk, no tiny measures for me!). Make the symbol relate to your desire, and bring the image into your mind. Imagine that you already have your request, and try and conjure up the feelings of happiness that this brings. Now eat the cheese. It's as simple as that!

Talking of moderation, I was talking to a lovely lady last night Rosie, who practics Egyptian Reiki. Sounds fascinating doesn't it? She was talking about tapping in to the Goddess Maat, and I have to agree that she's the perfect deity for helping us when it comes to balance and moderation. Maat represents peace and harmony, her symbols are the scales and the feather, and it was her job to weigh the souls after death. Sounds a bit morbid, but Maat was known for her fairness in these situations. Rosie also creates guided meditations and they sound truly inspirational. I'm hoping to listen to one of her CDs, so watch this space! She will be appearing at the Soulshine event in Nottingham on June 6th, and I think she's going to be giving a talk on Egyptian Reiki, so anyone interested should definitely go along and experience her work first hand. Tickets are now available at a bargain cost of £3, and can be purchased by email soulshineproductions@hotmail.co.uk or by calling 0115 9831340. Go on, you know you want to!!
And of course if you do, please come and say hello to me. I'll be there on the day, giving consultations and also a talk on the magical power of stories.

Have an enchanting week.

Sniffles in the Sunshine!

What a beautiful morning it is, although I'm writing this with a very thick head cold and feeling under the weather. I hate colds, just because they slow you down, and I'm the kind of person that likes to be on the go, and juggling lots of different things. Of course I still try. A little cold bug won't get the better of me, I say... but there are times when you have to face facts, slow right down, and accept that your body needs time to re-generate and heal.

Speaking of healing, the latest on the Soulshine MBS event is that they've got some great healers and therapists on board:- Sue Tribe, is a very experienced shamanic healer and past life therapist and she'll be giving a talk on her work and mini treatments on the day. There's also lots of holistic therapies, Janine Regan-Sinclair from Crystal Ki will be there. She has developed a unique system of energy healing that sounds amazing, and the wonderful Kay Tom who is an energy specialist. Kay is an expert in Chinese Astrology and will be giving a talk on the signs of the zodiac. I'm really looking forward to that. I've always been a fan of Chinese Astrology, and feel that I am very much like my sign the Rat. In fact I think rats in general get a lot of bad press, when they're quite a clever and lovable bunch!

So the next time you feel an aversion for something, whether's it's rats, mice, spiders, or just a general dislike for the common cold, take a deep breath. Place both hands on your heart chakra and feel a ball of rose coloured light spinning around, sending healing energy to every part of your body and making you see everything in a much more positive light.

Magical Blessings for a lovely chilled out week.

Sunday 5 April 2009

Well it's monday again! I say this a lot, but I can't believe how fast the time goes. I think that's obviously a good sign, it means that you're enjoying life, immersed in the present and making the most of it. Sometimes though, I do wish I could manifest more time. So when I feel like this, I take a few minutes out of the day to focus on my breathing and clear my head. Often we feel like things are going so fast because our minds are full of clutter so I try and imagine my mind like giant room. I see all my worries and thoughts in piles, and I put them in boxes. Almost like doing a tidy up. Sometimes I even imagine sweeping the debris away, the stresses that I know I don't need, the nagging worries. They all get swept out of my ears! I know that's a funny image, but it really works! Then once I've put all my other concerns in boxes, and moved them to one side, I can actually see how much space I have. This is good because it allows you time to breathe, to relax and also generate new ideas. I always remember a good friend telling me, that the Universe can only provide something when there's a space for it. I think that's very true. So for those of you on the hunt for true love this year, remember that time on your own is good. It means you can sort out what you really want and what makes you happy. The same goes for those of you looking for a job, or hoping to fulfill a special dream. The human condition means that we often panic, when we feel there is nothing going on in our world. I'm guilty of this one myself, but I realise now that these moments are precious. We all need breathing space to regenerate and re-charge our batteries, ready for the next exciting chapter in our life.

So here's to a week with lots of time to breathe, relax and come up with some sensational plans for the summer!

Mind Body Soul

Greetings on this mystical monday morning!

I say that because it's been one of those weekends, littered with signs and synchronicities. It started on friday when I had a dream that actually came true. Then on Saturday, an idea popped into my head from no-where and has literally sprouted wings. I'm not going to mention too much about it just yet, but what I will say is that it's looking like I might be appearing at a new Mind, Body, Soul event in the next couple of months. It's all very exciting, and it feels like I'm following a natural cycle with this. I should explain that many moons ago, when I was a very young magic ally, I spent a great deal of my time at Mind Body Soul events, running workshops and doing tarot readings. It's been a while, but I feel it's now the right time for me to return to this, and bring something new to the event. I'll keep you posted on developments on this Blog, as I think this event is going to be very special, with a great line up of people giving talks/sessions and readings. For me personally, it will give me the chance to catch up with old friends, and also make some new ones. To chew the fat with like-minded people, and maybe treat myself to some interesting buys (books, jewellry, crystals... you know the sort of thing!).

On another note, I've been reading quite a bit about Cosmic Ordering of late. It's a fascinating subject, and it's very comforting to think that the universe is there to support us, and is waiting for our requests, particularly in this current climate. I think the most important thing to note about Cosmic Ordering is that we might not think it is working for us, when actually it is! It's just working in a different way to the one we expected. The key here is to remove our expectations, and keep an open mind. Be positive, have faith, and stay flexible. Life often delivers answers in unusual and exciting ways.

Have a great and magical monday!

Wednesday 18 March 2009

Well we're half way through another week already, and I'm dashing around. I feel like I've got wings at the moment, flitting here, there and everywhere. Talking of wings I've been reading quite a bit about Angels. I find it a fascinating subject. Angels exist in so many different guises and we only have to learn to trust our instincts and listen to that calm inner voice to be able to communicate with them. I believe in guardian angels, and it seems I'm not the only one. Nearly everyone I talk to at the moment has had some sort of otherworldly, or spiritual experience that has left them convinced that they have been touched by an angel's wings. It's all very inspiring.

Personally I reccommend investing in a copy of 'Angels in My Hair' by Lorna Byrne, it's full of angel stories, and it's written in an easygoing accessible style. Even if you don't believe in these spiritual beings this book will leave you feeling energised and uplifted.

Magical Blessings for the rest of the week.

Monday 9 March 2009

Yes, I'm still here, just! I've been battling for months with writing deadlines and workshops and I'm so sorry not to have posted before now. But I'm going to make a conscious effort to keep this blog up to date with all my witterings. Once a week I'll log in and let you know what's been happening in the world of Magic Ally. I'll also give you a host of magical hints and tips to bring a bit of sunshine into your life. One things for sure, we certainly need it! The weather as I type this is gloomy and cold, and the wind brings an added bite to the air. Having said that, there's something refreshing about this blustery weather. Yes it's chilly, but it's also great for blowing away the cobwebs. So instead of turning up the heating and heading for the duvet, have a go at this five minute wind meditation. Stand with your arms out stretched, and your head up, facing the wind. Imagine it cleaning your aura, blowing away all the dark shadows, and clearing the space in your head for new ideas. Open your mouth and breathe deeply. Say 'I am empowered, invigorated and ready for anything!'

On the subject of being ready for anything, I am about to start work on a book about storytelling for babies. I'm really excited about this. Stories work on so many levels. They trigger powerful images and help us make sense of the world. They're a great way for little ones to explore language, bond with their parents, and learn important life lessons. There are so many ways to make reading exciting, and that's what I intend to do with this book. It can be scary starting a new endeavour like this. As a writer I worry about keeping the momentum up, and often when you start projects they can feel like insurmountable mountains. But I trust the muse, I believe in what I'm writing about, and it's that passion that always carries me through! So onwards and upwards. Until next week....

Bright and magical blessings!
